However, given the fact that the formations are relatively deep, operating conditions are severe and infrastructure is lacking, the costs per barrel would very likely be higher than in Canada and the Lower 48 States. It is unlikely that large capital investments can be attracted unless the government take is in the 45 – 55% range. 52
