Olympiad for me and I have many pleasant
memories from Tuymaada Olympiad.
Starting with the unusually long days and
short nights, the excellent company of
many bright students from different fields
and different countries, the fun we had
together, the difficult physics problems
that we had to solve, the great closing
ceremony where I received my bronze
medal, the memorable taste of the bottled
salt water from Yakutsk, and of course the
unforgettable cruise on the Lena River
together with the wonderful organizers. I
feel nostalgic of the days spent in Yakutia
even today, after 17 years. I wish I could go

together with the wonderful people from
Yakutia;
Now I live in the United States, and
I am a research fellow at the National

Washington, DC. My research focuses on
biophysical models that can explain the
organization of DNA and chromatin inside
the cell nucleus. I like to learn new things
