Foray into Thematic Bonds ADB's thematic bonds highlight its efforts to support key initiatives such as its water programs and clean energy projects through its AAA quality notes. ADB launched its first ever topical bonds (Uridashi) in 2010: Two-tranche Water Bonds (total amount of $638 million equivalent) Four-tranche Clean Energy Bonds (total amount of $233 million equivalent) In 2015, ADB has raised an equivalent of about $177 million from its sale of water bonds. ADB has issued approximately $2.3 billion equivalent in clean energy and water bonds since 2010. 32
