LANDMARK IIB PROJECTS DEVELOPMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE The Bank is financing the construction of a cascade of small hydro-electric dams in Karelia. The project is included in a list of high-priority projects under the Federal Targeted Programme "Development of the Republic of Karelia to 2020". The project will allow the region, its residents and enterprises to be supplied with inexpensive, "clean" energy. The implementation of "green" and renewable energy sector projects is among the priority activities of IIB, as an international development institution.
