Governance Leadership and Oversight 7. Statement by director responsible for the business responsibility report, highlighting ESG related challenges, targets and achievements. Sustainability in the automotive space is a sectoral activity, where a synergised approach with a common goal across the value chain could yield the necessary impact. As we continue to be the leader in the space of automotive tyre manufacturing in India, it becomes essential for us to play an active role in helping the sector decarbonize thereby meeting India's target of net zero emission by 2070. To support the national goal, we plan to set phase-wise targets and commitments to improve our sustainability performance in the coming years. While we have embarked on this journey towards embedding sustainability in our business practices, we conducted our first materiality assessment to understand the key material issues of our business. We have also conducted an extensive exercise of understanding our environmental footprint across our 10 manufacturing sites in India in the current reporting period. Going forward MRF will continue to embark on this journey towards a sustainable future through the utilisation of clean energy, improving the efficiency of processes and optimisation of resources. Further, key performance regarding the 9 NGRBC principles are mentioned in section C of our Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report. 58
