THE INTERNATIONAL
REC STANDARD
In 2022, The Bank has supplied 50,000 MWh of its
electricity from renewable energy sources.
100 more service buildings were renovated within
sustainability concept in 2022.
Zero Waste Management
"Zero Waste Certificate" was received for a total of
1,371 out of separate 1827 service buildings.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL
IMPACT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
✰ As of March 2022, Ziraat Bank officially started
to implement environmental and social risk
evaluations for investment loan requests related
to projects above a certain amount in accordance
with its <<Environmental and Social Impact
Management Policy in Lending Activities>>
adopted in 2020.
✰ The policy includes an «Excluded Activities List>>
✰ Assessments are done via Environmental and
Social Risk Assessment Model (ESRM) which
complies with the IFC Performance Standards as
well as national legislation.
✰ In 2022, 21 projects were evaluated under ESRM
and no projects were rejected due to Exclusion List.
