Of sentenced people with a felony DV offense in
custody at the end of each fiscal year (n=740),
an average of 59 percent had been admitted to
prison for a new sentence and 40 percent for a
supervision violation between 2015 and 2020.
During that same time, for sentenced people
with a misdemeanor DV offense in custody at
the end of each fiscal year (n=206), 58 percent
had been admitted for a new sentence and 42
percent for a probation violation.
