5. Business environment d) 2018 FIFA World Cup in Saint Petersburg Saint Petersburg is one of the Russian cities which hosted the 2018 FIFA World Cup, including a semi- final match. Owing to this fact, Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region received funding by FIFA, as well as federal and municipal funding for implementation of infrastructure projects.
