Before the arrival of the utility company, Campos had no wastewater treatment, and the water reached the population intermittently. Today, the population is served by 40 water production systems, which supply 102 locations through 1,798 kilometers of water mains and networks. The municipality rose two positions in the ranking of large cities in terms of sanitation, moving from 26th to 24th position, and consolidating itself as the best in sanitation in Rio de Janeiro. Badu's sanitary wastewater system - Collector Network, Sewage Pumping Stations, and New Sewage Connections - ended the year with 25% of the work completed.
