The ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club e. V.) is the largest mobility club in Europe with over 19 million members, based in Munich. It is also the largest motorcyclist association in the world, with 1.5 million members. The ADAC represents drivers and advises members on all aspects of automotive travel. The ADAC acts in the interest of the german motorists. It also offers - directly or through one of its 40 subsidiaries - services and produces maps and guides. It also runs several road safety centers. The original and most popular service is the road side assistance. The yellow vehicles are often referred to as 'Yellow Angels'​ (Gelbe Engel). The ADACAir Rescue, the second largest helicopter fleet in Germany, took care of 48,500 patients last year. The ADAC Ambulance Service administers care to about 55,000 patients and transports .
