The IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital is a clinical-scientific-university facility of international importance and high specialization for several important pathologies, inaugurated in 1971 and recognized in 1972 "Institute of Reception and Care of Scientific Character" (IRCCS). Other related facilities are the San Raffaele Turro Hospital and the Cardinal Schuster and San Donato Milanese polyambulatories, for a total of 1,318 beds. In 2016 were carried out in total about 34.000 surgical interventions, 45.580 hospitalizations, over 950.000 outpatient services and 67.770 accesses to the First Aid. San Raffaele is a Center for Emergency High Speciality (EAS). In the field of Research, the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital is recognized by the Ministry of Health as the Institute of Reception and Care of Scientific Character (IRCCS).
