Manitoba is the most stable provincial economy in Canada, with a diversified base where strong growth in one sector can offset challenges in others. Manitoba posted the second strongest provincial growth rate over the past decade, averaging 2.0% compared to 1.7% real GDP growth in Canada overall (2008-2018). Manitoba has the most stable and resilient labour market in Canada. Absorbing near record numbers of new working age population, while maintaining among the lowest unemployment rates in Canada.
