Scheme
Double bedroom housing scheme
or 2bhk scheme is a housing
scheme for the poor introduced
by the government of Telangana,
India. The free 2bhk scheme
provides 2.72 lakh homes by March
2019 in phase 1 and 3 lakh by 2024
houses in both rural and urban
areas to the poor at a cost of Rs.
36,000 crores.
The aim and objective of
the scheme is to provide
a dignified living for
the impoverished and
underprivileged.
Aasara
Pension
Government of Telangana as a
part of its promise to provide social
security net, has introduced the
Aasara pensions with a view to ensure
secured life with dignity to the poor,
old and the vulnerable people of
the state. It is a welfare scheme of
pensions to old people, widows, goud
community, elephantiasis patients,
AIDS afflicted people, physically
disabled and beedi workers.
The pension amount is
Rs. 3016 for the disabled
and Rs 2,016 per month for
all the other beneficiaries
UNICEF India in December 2017 appreciated
the initiative taken by the Government of
Telangana and appraised for the scheme.

Arogya
Lakshmi
With the aim to enhance the levels
of nutrition in pregnant and lactating
women, Telangana government has
decided to provide one nutritious meal
every day to pregnant and lactating
women and children below the age
of six through Anganwadi centers.
The nutritional meals are provided at
35,955 anganwadi in the state. Under
the program, a beneficiary gets:
16 eggs a month for children
in the age group of 7 months
to 3 years. An egg every day
for children from 3 to 6 years.
An egg every day and 200 ml
of milk for 25 days a month to
pregnant and lactating women
2 kg pack of milk powder along
with roasted Bengal gram, sugar
and edible oil are provided
on 1st day of every month to
Pregnant and lactating mothers
Rice, dal, vegetables and snacks
are supplied daily
