■ Privilege is granted to a client, not a therapist.
NRS 49 has separate sections for Psychologists, Social Works,
Marriage and Family Therapists, Clinical Professional
Counselors, and other professions, but uses identical language
for each, except for the italicized phrase (only mentioned in
the psychologist and physician/dentist sections).
"A patient has a privilege to refuse to disclose and to prevent
any other person from disclosing confidential communications
between the patient and the patient's Psychologist
[MFT/Social Worker] or any other person who is participating
in the diagnosis or treatment under the direction of the
psychologist [MFT, Social Worker], including a member of
