Ven- ezuela, Saudi Arabia and Canada account for 44.4% of the world's to- tal oil reserves. Brazil was the 16th country with the largest reserves of this input in the world, with 11.9 bil- lion barrels of oil. As for oil refinement, it was 75.5 million bar- rels per day in 2020, representing a 7.4 million barrel drop in refined oil per day in the world, 9.0% lower than the previous year (chart 7). Refining capacity across regions in the world in 2020 was distribut- ed as follows: Asia (35.8%), North America (21.4%), Europe (15.3%), Middle East (10.0%), Common- wealth of Independent States (8.2%), South America and Central (6.1%) and Africa (3.3%).
