The schools have didactic autonomy in the Organizational, Research, Experimentation and Development field.#34THE EDUCATION SYSTEM • SCUOLA DELL'INFANZIA-NURSEY SCHOOL - Not mandatatory; - for children from 3-6 years old THE FIRST LEVEL OF EDUCATION - Mandatory; - lasts 8 years; - divided into: 1. SCUOLA PRIMARIA lasts 5 years, for pupils from 6 to 11 years old 2. SCUOLA SECONDARIA DI PRIMO GRADO it lasts 3 years, for students from 11 to 14 years old#35THE EDUCATION SYSTEM The second level of education is articulated in two types of paths: - Scuola secondaria di secondo grado it lasts 5 years, for students who have completed the first level of education.
